There are still some boats using the old monitoring system called Horn LOP or Local Operating Panel Type UT 183. This system was designed by Horn factory as supplier for MTU to provide a monitoring system on 183 engines, mainly for on board gensets.
We received a Horn LOP to test and repair, this LOP use 2 internal power supplies, one for ALSY and one for SISY. We have repaired these power supplies many times as part of the problems in these LOP´s.
Now you can see a Restoretronic replacement for this power supply, in this case for a sailing yacht with just one 183 main engine, we have designed and manufactured a fully compatible power supply to have as spare on this boat, after repairing the original power supply, to avoid future problems during season.
Same size and connectors to make it fully compatible, but different design.
On other photos you can see the complete Horn LOP, may be you have been troubleshooting them in the field sometimes with ALSY and SISY problems.
Now, after this job, we have a new solution, apart of repairing, for these power supply for boats which still use this system and have different issues with new parts.
Soon we will design and manufacture Horn LOP simulator.
