MTU LOP1 MCS-5 Local Operating Panel in engine room with CIB3, PIM, Display y PAN

This is LOP1, I´m sure some of you have seen it and worked on this system many times, MCS-5 MTU electronic system. Local Operating Panel located in engine rooms to control and monitor MDEC ECU´s and working as interface for communication to brige stations, GCU (gearbox control), sensors and other signals.

On the door you can see the first generations Mikrap displays, DIS1 to DIS5, and also PAN´s (pushbuttons units). Inside you can see LCU and LMU, both blue units called PIM´s with the known main PCB MPU23, working as brain of each PIM with communication with different auxiliar boards like BIB, AIB, BOB or SAB.
On top of internal box you can find the CIB3 PCB, working as connection interface board with a PAL as main chip.
We have repaired all the components which belong to this type of LOP and also MCS-5 system, for example CIB3 is not manufactured anymore, it is obsolete product in MTU. We also have a simulator for MCS-5 system with all possible components like RCS-5 with ROS2 or RIM box + ROS7, MDEC, displays, GCU, PIM´s… I will show you that simulator in some other post.

We can program all products on this system too, the beginnings were based on special tool for service dealers called BDM and using MEM5 customized project memory.
If you have worked on this system, which is still probably in a lot of marine applications as main engine control box and onboard gensets, please comment.
