The MTU Display 5 (DIS 5) is a marine-grade visualization and monitoring unit developed for demanding operational environments, providing the operator with clear, stable, and rapid access to essential MTU system information. In BlueLine installations, it is used as a monitoring display at the Local Operating Panel (LOP) in the engine room and—where the vessel’s configuration requires—at remote control stations, ensuring a consistent and structured presentation of operating data.

The DIS 5 presents key powertrain operating values and system statuses (engine and, depending on integration, gearbox), as well as warnings/alarms and overall system condition messages, enabling early detection of deviations and effective response to abnormal operating conditions or limit exceedances. As part of the MTU electronic architecture, it integrates via CAN bus communication with the associated control and automation modules, ensuring reliable data exchange and a coherent operator interface across the installation.
