The MTU Display 2 (DIS 2) is a high-performance visualization, operation, and supervision unit developed for use in demanding marine applications. It is intended for the centralized display and monitoring of operational parameters, functional states, and system messages of MTU systems, providing the operator with a reliable and precise interface for the management of the propulsion system and associated subsystems.

Within MTU BlueLine installations, the MTU Display 2 is used as the primary operating interface at control stations, both on local panels and at remote command positions. Information is presented in a structured and hierarchical manner, enabling a rapid and safe assessment of operating conditions during navigation, maneuvering, and continuous service.

The MTU Display 2 allows detailed visualization of process values, states, and trends of the powertrain, including engine parameters and, depending on the scope of system integration, information from the reduction gearbox. In addition, it manages and displays alarm messages, warnings, and system status indications, supporting early detection of operational deviations, immediate identification of relevant events, and appropriate response to abnormal conditions or limit exceedances.

As an integral component of the MTU electronic architecture, the MTU Display 2 is integrated into the control and supervision system via bus-based communication, typically CAN. This architecture ensures coherent, deterministic, and reliable data exchange with the associated automation and control modules, providing a uniform, consistent, and marine-compliant user interface.
