MTU MDEC ECU4 repair

Look at this complex repair we did for a company in USA. We received some MDEC ECU to be repaired and 2 of them had same explosions, probably due to an external issue to ECU which damaged them in the same circuit side.
The PCB was damaged physically and MTU electronics are usually multilayer PCB´s, this means it can have 5 o 6 layers in between of PCB to interconnect all the components located in one side of PCB.

I share some photos of the PCB reconstruction process and finally how we had to interconnect all the missed connection points due to the explosion, after opening and cleaning layers, before final reconstruction.

You can see that 3 square centimeters can connect to far points in the PCB due to the multilayer concept. This has been a hard job to recover a MDEC ECU, which is already obsolete in MTU, not manufactured anymore.
After that, we installed the unit in our simulators to find some more problem, but it has been working for some days successfully.
I´m sure when you have seen some electronic damage sometimes you thought that unit was not repairable, but we have put back again in life some units like this…
Important to know what kind of section of the circuit is damaged, to understand signals which can manage more or less power, communications or other types of electronic possibilities.
