The MTU Display 8 (DIS 8) is a marine-grade visualization and monitoring unit intended for BlueLine electronic systems, designed to give the operator clear, stable, and fast access to essential MTU operating information. In typical installations, it can be fitted not only at the Local Operating Panel (LOP) in the engine room, but also at external operating positions such as an open station or flybridge, ensuring a consistent monitoring interface wherever the vessel is operated.

The DIS 8 supports structured supervision of key engine operating values and statuses, together with warnings/alarms and overall system condition messages, helping operators detect deviations early and respond effectively to abnormal conditions or limit exceedances. As part of the MTU electronic architecture, it exchanges data with control and automation modules through bus-based communication (CAN), ensuring reliable, coherent system information across the installation.
