Do you recognize this type of MTU electronic system? It is very old system called R082 used in 396 engine series.
One of my trainings in MTU-Friedrichshafen was in 2.002 during 3 weeks to work on the knowledge and tips of old MTU systems, covering different types and generations.
In that time, I was manager of electronic department of MTM company, there were some yachts using old systems, but, what do you think about these old systems nowadays? Still used in your countries?
In my island, you can see more and more new yachts with newer systems, using Blue Line New Generation. Mallorca is a strategical location in Mediterranean sea for marine applications, so it seems over the years old yachts with old MTU systems moved to different ports worldwide.
Probably still many Navy ships use old MTU systems, but what about private yachts? I share some pictures where you can see R082 governor, located inside LOP with pressure sensors, relays, old technology. You also can see RCS-4 or MCS-396 combining the SUE396T02 with UG modules for the monitoring system.
We don´t have a simulator for this R082 because we almost don´t receive request to repair it, may be this system is already disappearing around the world. We have some partial simulators for RCS-4 o MCS-396, which we have repaired sometimes, may be, if in the future we have more request and a good opportunity to buy an old system we could make a simulator for this type of governor.
